Band of Brothers
Discover how God defines authentic masculinity. John Eldredge and his band of brothers invite you to join them as they embark on a journey to learn how God can heal wounded hearts and put a spirit of adventure back in the life of any man. Each of the first 8 sessions will feature a 30 minute video and finish with group discussion. The remaining 6 sessions will be small group discussion.
Financial Peace University
We all need a plan for our money. Financial Peace University is that plan! It teaches God's ways of handling money. Through video teaching, class discussions and interactive small group activities, FPU presents biblical, practical steps to get from where you are to where you've dreamed you could be. This plan will show you how to get rid of debt, manage your money, spend and save wisely, and much more!
First Things First
If you're new to First Assembly, or maybe just curious as to what our church is all about, then this is the class for you! Pastor Barry will be taking this class through topics ranging from the history of our church, to what we believe, and how God is calling you to find your place. First Things First is the starting point of First Assembly.
God's Design, Your Choice
God has a design for your life, but He has left it up to you to choose whether or not you will follow His plan. This course will help you find out more about God's design for you and the many ways in which God will help you if you choose to follow Him. Knowledge about God's design and our choice will help everyone when they are confronted with the bewildering array of decisions that each person must make every day.
The History of Our Future
We are going to examine what God's Word has to say about the future of His church and His people Israel. We will connect the dots between Daniel, Ezekiel, and Revelation as well as other end-time scriptures.
Loving Our Kids On Purpose
Loving Our Kids On Purpose is a class meant to help you train your children in the way that they should go. It will help you not to just tell your children what they should do because you are the parent and that is why. We as Christian parents need to help your kids to grow up in a way that gives them freedoms and teaches them that they have choices even now as children, and when they get into the world they will have choices to make. These choices can eitehr give them freedom or take their freedom away.
Made To Crave
Craving isn't a bad thing, but we must realize God created us to crave so we'd ultimately desire more of Him in our lives. Many of us have misplaced that craving, overindulging in food instead of lasting spiritual satisfaction. In this class we will work through the Made To Crave DVD and book series as well as the Action Plan series. If you're struggling with unhealthy eating habits, Made To Crave will equip you to: 1. Break the "I'll start again Monday cycle" and start feeling good about yourself today. 2. Stop beating yourself up over the numbers on the scale and make peace with the body you've been given. 3. Discover how weight loss struggles aren't a curse but, rather, a blessing in the making. 4. Replace justifications that lead to diet failure with empowering go-to scripts that will lead to victory. 5. Eat healthy without feeling deprived. 6. Reach a healthy weight goal while growing closer to God through the process. The Action Plan series will give us 5 to help us put realistic everyday healthy choices into practice and will encourage you on your journey to healthy living.
The Story
God has gone to great lengths to rescue lost and hurting people. That is what The Story is all about - the story of the Bible, God's great love affair with humanity. Condensed into 31 accesible chapters, The Story sweeps you into the unfolding progression of Bible characters and events from Genesis to Revelation. Using the clear, accurate, and easy-to-understand text of the NIV, it allows the stories, poems, and teachings of the Bible to read like a novel. And like any good story, The Story is filled with intrigue, drama, conflict, romance, and redemption.
Through The Bible
Through The Bible is a weekly study that is designed to take students through the Bible once every seven years. It is not a book by book study but rather a series of topical studies from various book overviews that provides fresh concepts and studies relevant for today presented in an easy to understand format and down to earth teaching. Keep a notebook handy because we usually have a lot of related Scripture added in for reference material for studies on your own.
Walk-In Intercession
Our theme is prayer - answered prayer according to God's will and in His timing. We believe God's word holds the key and when activated by our belief system answers will be advanced, and His will be done. We believe all things are possible when Jesus' name is invoked. We are also studying and applying blessings through prayer and studying scripture. The Wednesday night meeting is called "Walking to Emmaus". In this meeting we use "fire power", which si the Word and all the weapons.
Cover of Care is a group of ladies that meet together once a month to make prayer shawls and blankets to give away to those who are facing hardships within our church community. It’s a way of using the gifts and talents that God has placed within us to show care and love to others. Even beyond the great comfort and love that is shown through the giving of the prayer shawls, there is another great benefit, fellowship. Imagine getting together to knit, crochet, and laugh together all while making a difference in the lives of people who need to know someone cares. Contact Joni Miller for more information.
Hey parents, ever find yourself at home on the weekends trying to keep your kids entertained? Maybe lack of entertainment isn’t the problem, but trying to get them off the TV, computer, or game system is. Well, we’ve found ourselves there too, and that’s why we created the Family Fun Connect. It’s a place where families with children elementary age and younger can enjoy activities together. We strive hard to plan events that will interest all the members of your family. Our events may include game nights, trips to theme parks, family based contests, and much more. The group meets at least once every two months. Because we are largely event based, our locations and times differ. Feel free to contact the church office for details on the next Family Fun Connect Event.
